Chennai: Chennai Police detained five motorists for executing risky bike stunts in Chennai that endangered commuters’ lives. The police are hunting for the prime suspect, identified as Binos from Hyderabad, who has fled.
On Friday, videos of a motorcycle gang performing a dangerous stunt in Chennai’s Teynampet Road emerged on social media. The incident took place opposite the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) headquarters.
The hooliganism of the bike gang surprised the commuters. Many people approached the police and demanded that they take action against the culprits by tagging the video on Twitter. Such an act can turn into an accident, which may be life-threatening.
Complaints from commuters led to the formation of special teams. After that, police came into action and detained five men in connection with the incident.
The arrested were identified as Petrol Malik from Royapettah, Imran Khan and Mukesh from Sembiyam, and Mohammed Haris and Mohammed Saifan from Thirupathur.
Police are also hunting for the prime accused, Binos, from Hyderabad, and further investigations are in process.
