Police detain several Punjab Congress leaders regarding their protest outside Bhagwant Mann’s residence

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Police detained several Congress leaders on Thursday amidst their protest outside Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan’s residence

All the arrested leaders were taken to Sector 3 police station. The moment police arrested the Congress leaders raised their voices and started sloganeering against the AAP ruled government in Punjab outside the police station.

Reacting to the protest, the Punjab CM said: “I am disappointed that the remnants of the Punjab Congress who have come to my house today to complaint in favor of their leaders who are facing bribery cases. It proofs that bribery is in their blood. Mann tweeted in the Gurmukhi language

Some of the Congress leaders stated that Mann did not meet them on Thursday in spited of their appointment for the meeting regarding the arrest of former state minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot.

Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, former minister of Forests and Social Welfare in the Captain Amarinder Singh Cabinet was arrested by Vigilance Bureau on a charge of corruption. There are several allegations against him.

He was accused for taking money for giving permission to cut trees while he was working as the forest minister in Punjab. The other blemish against the former Punjab minister was that he was architect in a multi-crore scam in Dalit scholarship schemes
