Police nab Haryana Roadways driver for hitting passenger with rod in Ambala

After an argument about not stopping at a crossing in Ambala City on Tuesday night, a Haryana Roadways bus driver struck a private bank employee with a rod in a fit of rage, breaking his leg and causing him to be hospitalized.

Ambala: After an argument about not stopping at a crossing in Ambala City on Tuesday night, a Haryana Roadways bus driver struck a private bank employee with a rod in a fit of rage, breaking his leg and causing him to be hospitalized.

The bank employee threw a brick at the bus after that argument with the bus driver escalated. The bus driver did not stop at the designated crossing. 

According to the police, Chetan Oberoi, a portfolio manager at a bank in Zirakpur, reported the incident that led to the arrest of the bus driver, Chand Mohan, who was from the Hisar depot.According to Oberoi, he boarded the bus coming from Chandigarh at Zirakpur and urged the driver to wake him up so he could get off at Polytechnic Chowk in Ambala. When I woke up around 11 pm, I discovered the bus had crossed the chowk. I hurried up to the driver and begged him to stop, but he refused. Finally, when I was getting off at Agrasen Chowk, we had an argument. The man suddenly appeared from behind me as I was waiting for an autorickshaw. Then, he repeatedly struck my right leg with the rod until other passengers stepped in to save me, the man claimed.

Sources said that the driver was drunk and out of control. The passengers had to wait for two hours before another driver was arranged.
