Chandigarh: A police station in Tarn Taran district of Punjab was targeted with a rocket launcher-like weapon. Police sources gave this information on Saturday. According to the information, some unknown people carried out a ‘rocket launcher attack’ late night at the Sarhali police station located on the Amritsar-Bathinda highway in the border district. Due to this, the glass of the door of the police station was found broken.
Senior police officers reached the spot and took stock of the situation. There was no loss of life in any way in the attack. There is minor damage to the building of the police station. The rocket launcher attack took place at around one o’clock in the night, a rocket launcher was fired from outside on the building of the police station. Sources say that the RPG was powerful but the damage was minimal because it first hit the out pillar or gate and then fell on the police station.
