New Delhi: The joint effort of Uttarakhand and Punjab Police helped to arrest an accused in the murder of singer turned politician Sidhu Moose Wala. The name of the guilty party is Manpreet, who was involved in engineering the plan and providing two vehicles—Bolero and Corolla—to those who shot at Sidhu’s vehicle. The accused have a criminal background.
Manpreet Singh, alias Bhau, is a well-known drug peddler. He was produced before the court on Tuesday and sent to police custody for five days. He has been involved in criminal activities for a long time. Overall, nine criminal cases were registered against him in several places. Earlier, the police detained him for several other criminal activities such as arms dealing, attemp to murder, rioting, unlawful gathering, and so on.
Two other accused in the singer’s murder case, Manpreet alias Mannu, and Sharad, who were kept in two different jails, Bathinda and Ferozepur, were taken on a 5-day production warrant.
Both accused are skilled shooters and members of the lethal Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Manpreet and Sharad have been in constant touch with Goldie Brar. All of them framed the murder plan of Sidhu Moose Wala. Overall, six shooters were hired to attack Moose Wala’s vehicle. The plan for his murder was hatched inside Tihar and some other jails in Punjab.
Moose Wala was shot dead on May 29, a day after the Punjab government curtailed his security cover. His last rites were performed on Tuesday at Mansa.
Goldy Brar, a Canada-based gangster, claimed responsibility for Moose Wala’s murder. Brar has a close link with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He claimed that the singer was killed to take revenge for the death of one Vicky Middukhera.
