Prayagraj: During the meeting, focused on reviewing the performance of postal divisions and India Post Payments Bank branches in the Prayagraj region, Yadav stressed the importance of meeting allocated targets. He emphasized the need to connect with the public and make them aware of the diverse services offered by the department. Yadav emphasized the pivotal role of customer satisfaction and efficient service delivery, urging swift resolution of public grievances and a sensitive approach towards customers.
Yadav outlined the array of services provided by the Department of Posts, including Savings Bank, Postal Life Insurance, Sukanya Samriddhi Account, India Post Payments Bank, Post Office Passport Seva Kendra, Aadhaar enrollment, and updating services. He revealed impressive statistics, indicating the substantial outreach of the department: more than 22.26 lakh savings accounts, 2.98 lakh India Post Payments Bank accounts, 81,000 IPPB Premium accounts, and 2.98 lakh Sukanya Samriddhi accounts have been opened in the post offices under Prayagraj Region.
In terms of revenue, Prayagraj Region has generated ₹26.79 crore from savings bank services, ₹2.47 crore from IPPB, ₹2.40 crore from speed post, ₹1.73 crore from parcels, and ₹32 lakh from business development services in the fiscal year 2023-24. Additionally, a total premium of ₹22.56 crore in Postal Life Insurance and ₹7.83 crore in Rural Postal Life Insurance has been collected.
Under initiatives like ‘Sampoorna Sukanya Samriddhi Gram‘ and ‘Sampoorna Bima Gram‘, 48 villages and 198 villages, respectively, have been covered in Prayagraj Region.
As part of upcoming events, the Postmaster General directed the undertaking of various activities and programs during World Post Day (October 9) and National Postal Week (October 9 to 13). Gaurav Srivastava, Director of Postal Services in the Prayagraj region, emphasized the need for consistent communication with the public and organizing Dak Melas in rural areas to achieve set targets effectively.
The meeting was attended by several key officials, including Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Prayagraj Abhishek Srivastava, Dy SP Pramila Yadav, Assistant Director MR Rashdee, Account Officer Sukanta Basu, Assistant Superintendent of Post Offices Rajesh Sharma, Arjit Soni, Dharmendra, Inspector of Post Offices AP Goswami, Manish, and other officers and employees from the regional office.
