Suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, facing serious sexual abuse charges, has booked a flight from Munich to Bengaluru, with an expected arrival in the early hours of May 31. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is on high alert at Kempegowda International Airport to arrest him upon landing.
Prajwal Revanna, grandson of JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda, is scheduled to return to Bengaluru on May 30. Official sources confirmed that the SIT is prepared to detain him as soon as he arrives on May 31. This move follows two previously cancelled flights from Germany.
Charges and Investigation Background
Revanna, who is seeking re-election as the NDA candidate from the Hassan Lok Sabha segment, fled abroad after explicit videos allegedly showing him sexually assaulting several women surfaced. The Karnataka State Commission for Women had requested Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to launch an investigation, leading to the registration of two sexual assault cases against him.
In a video message released two days ago, Revanna pledged to cooperate with the inquiry and appear before the SIT on May 31. Meanwhile, the SIT has conducted extensive searches at his residence in Hassan, seizing incriminating materials.
