Prashant Kishor is known for making election strategies for parties. Every party wants to hire him because his planning for the election generally proves beneficial. He sees all elections from different angles and prepares his policy as per the needs of the locations and situations, which helps any party come off with flying colours in the final outings.
Prashant Kishor’s recent meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and senior leader Rahul which Gandhi, once again raised the question of whether he might be the helping hand of the party in the coming assembly polls in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. Stalwarts like Ambika Soni, Digvijaya Singh, Ajay Maken, Mallikarjun Kharge, and K.C. Venugopal were also present.
The talk was in the air in 2021 that election strategist Prashant Kishor would be joining the Congress. That time, discussion between the election consultant and the top brass of Congress failed.
It is expected that several reversals are likely to take place in the party position. The debacle in the five assembly polls held in February and March this year has jolted the party. It lost in Punjab, where it was ruling. The grand old party performed miserably in the other four states.
Congress, still hopeful
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, “We will introspect on the causes of defeat, work on the organization, and will try to do better in the future. We are definitely disappointed but not demoralised.
He further added that we have only lost the election, not courage. We are not going anywhere—we will keep fighting until we win. We will reinvent and return and will come back with a new strategy, “
The Congress party doesn’t have the services of a sparking leader. Youngsters do not have the ability to influence the outcome of any election.Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are the leading campaigners for the party. Both of them were never able to entice and convince the voters.
Senior party leaders just want to keep their position intact and sometimes give thorny statements which are detrimental to the party. They are not working to consolidate the party position. Prashant Kishor’s political tactic may change the fortunes of the Congress party. It will be proved in the forthcoming Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections.
