Mahatma Gandhi Death Anniversary: On the occasion of the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, PM Narendra Modi, President Draupadi Murmu paid tribute to the Father of the Nation at Rajghat in Delhi. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Vinay Kumar Saxena and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also visited Rajghat and paid tribute to Bapu on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
New Delhi: On the occasion of Martyr’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat in Delhi on his death anniversary. President Draupadi Murmu also paid tribute to the Father of the Nation at Rajghat in Delhi on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Earlier, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Vinay Kumar Saxena and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also visited Rajghat and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary.
PM Narendra Modi said in a tweet on the occasion of the death anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi that ‘I bow down to Bapu on his death anniversary and remember his serious thoughts. I also pay tribute to all those who have been martyred in the service of our nation. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten and they will continue to strengthen our resolve to work for a developed India.

On this day in 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was shot dead by Nathuram Godse in the premises of Birla House in New Delhi. Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869. He was one of the most influential leaders of India and played an important role in achieving independence for the country.
