Lucknow: One of the most popular mobile games, PUBG has reportedly crossed 100 crore downloads outside China in just three years of its launch, hence, putting it in the league of some of the greatest games worldwide.
Announcing this major milestone, Chinese tech company Tencent said that PUBG Mobile has crossed the 100 crore accumulated download mark outside China.
The gaming sensation was launched worldwide in the year 2018 and since then it kept on increasing its fanbase with its design and ever evolving gaming strategies and features.
PUBG Mobile was initially launched as the mobile version of the ‘Player unknown’s Battlegrounds’ in the year 2018 and since then remained unbeaten by its competitors and ruled the hearts of the younger generation.
However, Indian government had put a banned on the game last year citing concerns against Chinese applications and gave way to its competitor, indigenously developed ‘FAU-G’, based on the same concept. The ‘FAU-G’, however, failed to fill the void created by the PUB-G and forced the gamers to play it on VPN.
The combat game allows a group of players playing from different locations to play at the same time as competitors and concludes when only one of the combatants has survived neutralising all others.
If the latest download figures released by gaming giant are anything to go by, the game is now behind only two games in terms of download numbers- Kiloo Games ‘Subway Surfers’ and King Digital Entertainment’s ‘Candy Crush Saga’.
