Departments have been changed in the Punjab cabinet. Chetan Jodamajra has got the PR department. Whereas, Urban Housing will be with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Punjab cabinet reshuffled : There has been a major reshuffle in the Punjab cabinet. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has reshuffled the portfolios of his five ministers Aman Arora, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Laljit Singh Bhullar, Chetan Singh Jauramajra and Anmol Gagan Mann. The Punjab cabinet has 18 ministers including the Chief Minister. In this, two major departments have been taken from Minister Aman Arora while the Urban Housing department will be with CM Bhagwant Mann. In the new change, the PR department has been given to Chetan Singh Jouramajra. Aman Arora will now have the responsibility of four departments, including the Department of Administrative Reforms.
According to the order issued late last evening, in the new reshuffle, Aman Arora has been taken over from the Housing and Urban Development Department and the Information and Public Relations Department. He has been entrusted with the departments of New and Renewable Energy, Printing and Stationery, Governance Reforms and Grievances Removal, besides Employment Generation and Training.
Cabinet reshuffle for the second time within two months
The portfolios of ministers have been reshuffled for the second time in two and a quarter months. Prior to this, on January 7, Fauja Singh Sarari had to leave the post after being accused of corruption. On the same day Dr. Balveer Singh, MLA from Patiala Rural, was made a minister. During this reshuffle, the Chief Minister had also taken over the jail department. The portfolios of some other ministers were also changed.
