New Delhi: The CBI on Tuesday raided more than 30 places in Punjab including Rajpura, Patiala, Sirhind, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Sunam, Moga, Ferozepur, Ludhiana and Sangrur. According to CBI sources, the premises of FCI officials, private rice mill owners and grain traders have been raided. The whole case pertains to payment of huge kickbacks to FCI.
Today, Investigating agencies are conducting raids in many states in the country. The raids of NIA, ED and IT are going on in different states of the country in different cases. SIA has conducted raids in Jammu and Kashmir.
This raid of CBI is happening in the premises of FCI. FCI is conducting searches at the premises of officials, private rice mill owners and grain traders in connection with payment of huge kickbacks to FCI. The whole case pertains to payment of huge kickbacks to FCI.
On the other hand, in Jammu and Kashmir, State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted raids at five places with the assistance of local police and CRPF. In the ‘Narco Terrorism’ case, searches are being conducted in Baramulla, Anantnag, Pulwama, Budgam and Sopore districts.
Significantly, in a case related to gangster and crime syndicate, NIA is conducting raids in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh. While on the other hand the Income Tax Department is raiding the premises of Uflex Ltd. The raids are going on in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
On the other hand, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting raids at 24 locations across the country including Ranchi in the case related to Engineer Virendra Ram in the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of Jharkhand.
