Jalandhar: It seems that the Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, is a sports-crazy person. He likes to participate in sporting events to remember his olden days. He was spotted playing a volleyball match with a group of budding players in a video that has gone viral on social media.
Wearing a black tracksuit with yellow stripes and a cap, Mann was playing a volleyball match after inaugurating the ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Dian’ sporting event at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium in Jalandhar on Monday.
The Khetan Watan Punjab Dian is a huge sporting event in Punjab which will continue for two months. It is expected that more than 4 lakh players of different age groups will participate in multiple events in this sporting feast. There will be 28 sports categories organised from block to state-level. However, the state-level winners would be awarded a cash prize worth Rs 6 crore.
Speaking on the event after the inauguration ceremony of the sporting event, CM Mann stated that from now on, the games played in the event will be an annual feature in the state’s sports calendar.
