The meeting of AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal with Chief Secretary of Punjab Anirudh Tewari and other senior bureaucrats raised the eyebrows of the opposition recently. Several leaders termed it “Will Punjab be puppeteered by Delhi people?

Finally, the chief minister of Punjab broke his silence at a function to celebrate the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, Mann said, “I’ve sent the officials earlier as well.” They went to Gujarat and Tamil Naidu for training. If there is a need to send them to Israel for training for the betterment of Punjab, I will do so. “

In the absence of Mann, the meeting between Kejriwal and some Punjab babus on Monday provided an opportunity for the opposition to claim that Kejriwal was indirectly running the government and interfering in state affairs.

Opposition criticises Kejriwal

The meeting of the Delhi CM with senior bureaucrats from Punjab in the absence of the state CM to talk about AAP’s pre-poll promise of 300 units of free electricity to the people of the state had given the opposition a chance to criticise Kejriwal for this act.

The meeting got sharp criticism from all the opposition parties, such as the Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, and the BJP, which accused Kejriwal of ruling the state through remote control.

On the opposition’s charge of him being sidelined, the Punjab CM said: “Where and who is the opposition in Punjab? They had won by only 200–300 votes, and there are only 17–18 MLAs. They should not criticise for the sake of criticising. People will give them a befitting reply. I will send my officials to Delhi, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu in the coming days.

On the power sector, the chief minister said that the AAP government will make an announcement on April 16 for the people of Punjab.

Opposition not satisfied with Mann’s statement

Soon after Mann’s statement, Punjab Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira tweeted, “This is not only a belated afterthought cover up by Bhagwant Mann but definitely on instructions from Arvind Kejriwal, who felt the opposition heat for summoning Punjab officers directly to Delhi.” All we want is for our CM to be a dummy and remote-controlled.”

In a second tweet, Khaira said: “And this story by Bhagwant Mann that these officers were sent to Arvind Kejriwal for training is another cock and bull story and a cheap cover-up attempt! What rocket science training does Kejriwal give in a couple of hours of meetings? It’s better to tell the truth that they were summoned, “said Khaira in the second tweet.”
