New Delhi: Punjab Police has launched a special search operation against criminals associated with him and his relatives to nab gangster Goldy Brar, the main accused in the murder of singer and leader Sidhu Moose wala. Brar is an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and has at least 13 cases for offences like murder, attempt-to-murder and arms smuggling registered against him in India.
On Thursday, Punjab Police raided several places to arrest criminals associated with gangster Goldy Brar and they are also being interrogated. According to the information, this search operation started at around seven in the morning. Since then, police raids have been going on at Goldy Brar and her relatives and close friends since morning. This campaign of Punjab Police is being run in all the districts of the state.
According to senior officials, several police teams are part of this operation. Goldy Brar is the main accused in the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala. The Punjab Police action comes a day after the National Investigation Agency intensified its investigation against Khalistani terrorists carrying out activities in India. The agency had announced a cash reward for information on five members of the terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), including Harwinder Singh Sandhu alias ‘Rinda’ and Lakhbir Singh Sandhu alias ‘Landa’.
Officials said gang members and associates give ideological push to these youth and lure them with money to carry out murders and targeted killings. The operation is being conducted in all the 22 districts of the state and a detailed report on the detainees and evidence collected will be submitted to the police authorities after its completion.
This action also aims to shut down the supply chain of drugs. Let us tell you that Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala, was shot dead in Mansa district on May 29 last year. Goldy Brar, a native of Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab, came to Canada in 2017 on a student visa. He is an active member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Brar moved to Canada on a student visa five years ago and worked as a trucker for a while. Earlier this year, the country had named him on its list of 25 most-wanted fugitives.
