Amritsar: The judiciary has immense power in the democratic system. Therefore, it keeps eyes on every segment of life. It is rightly said that no one can deceive the law.
A Punjab court issued a non-bailable warrant against nine people, including Punjab Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan and two cabinet ministers, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer and Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Tuesday.
The politicians were not able to appear in court on their due date. A case was registered against them for organising a dharna in August 2020. During the dharna, they were protesting against the deaths of several people amidst consumption of poisonous alcoholic liquor in the border districts of Amritsar and Tarn Taran.
