But the top brass of the party kept faith in Pushkar Singh Dhami. Although he lost to Bhuwan Chandra of the Congress in the recently concluded assembly elections in Uttarakhand.

Pushkar Singh Dhami is to continue as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. The decision was announced after the meeting of the BJP’s legislature party on Monday.
The BJP’s central observers for the state, Union minister Rajnath Singh, and senior leader Meenakshi Lekhi were part of the meeting at the state party headquarters in Dehradun.

The Bharatiya Janata Party retained power in Uttarakhand for a second successive term after winning 46 seats in the recently held state assembly polls. However, Pushkar Singh Dhami lost his Khatima constituency in Udhamsingh Nagar district. He resigned from his post as Uttarakhand CM on March 11 after he lost the election to Congress candidate Bhuwan Chandra Kapri by a margin of 6,579 votes.
With the announcement of the name of Pushkar Singh Dhami, all the speculation has ended. All eyes were on the leader of the BJP legislature party, who will be the next Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
The oath-taking ceremony for the new cabinet is likely to be held on Tuesday, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah, BJP president J P Nadda, chief ministers of several BJP-governed states, and other dignitaries are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
The BJP, which had been criticized for changing the chief minister three times in the previous five years, had named Dhami as the new CM of the state.
