Raghav Chadha was suspended from the House by Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. The suspension will continue till the report of the Privileges Committee of Parliament is received.
New Delhi :Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has been suspended from the Rajya Sabha. MP Raghav Chadha has been suspended from the House till the report of the Committee of Privileges of Rajya Sabha comes on Friday. Chadha is accused of gross violation of rules, misconduct, contemptuous attitude and contemptuous conduct. After suspension, now Raghav Chadha has changed his bio on social media platform X (earlier Twitter). And has added Suspended MP (Suspended MP) to his name.
Fake Signature Case?
During the proceedings of the house, it was claimed that the motion given by Raghav Chadha was signed by the MPs. However, 5 MPs had said that they did not sign the motion. After this, a demand was made to investigate the matter. The Privileges Committee of the House sent a legal notice to Raghav Chadha. On the other hand, Raghav Chadha has denied the allegations leveled against him. He also wrote that speaking the truth has become costly. Chadha was very aggressive on Delhi Service Bill and Manipur issue. The BJP had accused the AAP MP of sending the signatures without the consent of some MPs to send the Delhi Service Bill to the Select Committee. In response to this, while giving an open challenge, he had said that BJP should name those MPs.
Chadha was suspended for “breach of privilege” after some MPs alleged that she had violated rules by naming them on a House panel without their consent.
Rajya Sabha passed a motion moved by Leader of the House Piyush Goyal to suspend Chadha till the Committee of Privileges presents its findings.
