Mumbai: Raghunandan Kamath, popularly known as the Ice Cream Man of the country, passed away. He was the owner and founder of the country’s largest ice cream chain Natural Ice Cream. His age was 75 years. He was ill for the last few days. On Friday, he breathed his last at HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. Information about Raghunandan Kamath’s demise was given through the company’s social media handle on Saturday night.

Raghunandan Kamath was born in a village in Mangaluru, Karnataka. He was one of 6 brothers and sisters. His father was a fruit seller. He started supporting his father at a young age. Where he learned many nuances regarding fruits from his father, which were very useful for him in the future. At the age of 14, he left studies. Came to Mumbai and started working in his brother’s restaurant. After a few days they parted ways.
On February 14, 1984, he started an ice cream business with some people. He started an ice cream parlor in Juhu. First of all he kept ice cream of 12 flavors. Soon the demand for ice cream increased. After about 10 years, he opened 5 more outlets in 1994. At present, Natural Ice Cream has more than 165 outlets in 15 cities. The special thing is that he had learned the technique of making ice cream from his mother. Kamath had also prepared new machines to improve production. Which benefited him a lot….
