New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said today that the BJP is opposed to the Bharat Jodo Yatra because the march is India’s truth. The Union Health Ministry urged the Congress leader to suspend the yatra because of widespread COVID. These are the reasons to halt the march. “They are scared of India’s truth,” Rahul Gandhi said.
#WATCH | …It’s their (BJP) new idea, they wrote a letter to me saying COVID is coming & stop the Yatra. All these are excuses to stop this Yatra, they are scared of India’s truth: Rahul Gandhi on Union Health min’s letter pertaining to Covid protocols in Bharat Jodo Yatra pic.twitter.com/BCzziH2n06

COVID is an excuse to stop the yatra anyway. The BJP is afraid of the truth. Their main aim is to stop our march. All are scared of India’s march. People of all religions, such as Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians, and people from all walks of life are marching with us shoulder to shoulder. “The yatra will reach Jammu and Kashmir,” Gandhi said.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya wrote to Rahul Gandhi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday, saying that the COVID guidelines must be followed during the Bharat Jodo Yatra and people must use masks and sanitizers.
In the Bharat Jodo Yatra, only vaccinated people could take part. “Follow COVID rules or suspend Yatra,” the letter said.
The Congress lashed out at the government for targeting the Bharat Jodo Yatra because of its grand success. The party today asked if the health minister sent letters to the organisers of the BJP’s rallies in Rajasthan and Karnataka.
