On Thursday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi performed the traditional folk dance with members of tribal communities known as "Dhimsa," which began in Odisha and is now also well-known in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

New Delhi: On Thursday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi performed the traditional folk dance with members of tribal communities known as “Dhimsa,” which began in Odisha and is now also well-known in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Rahul Gandhi can be seen dancing with performers dressed in traditional attire in a video that the Congress posted on Twitter.

Currently, Rahul Gandhi has been leading his party’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ to reconnect people from all walks of life ahead of the forthcoming elections in several states and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls as well. After travelling across sections of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi is now in Telangana.

The Congress party shared several videos in which the Wayanad MP was dancing with tribals; apart from these, he also took part in a boat race, engaged in push-ups with children, and interacted with transgender people and other marginalised groups of society. He was seen talking with the karate kid and trying to correct his technique. Rahul himself is a black belt in Aikido.

The Congress has claimed that massive crowds gathered wherever Rahul went so far. The public had given a warm welcome to the Congress leader. Rahul has been garnering support to improve the party’s position in the upcoming elections in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat and multiple state polls to be held next year, including Karnataka, Telangana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh. He is also eyeing national elections to be held in 2024.

The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ kicked off on September 7, and it has to cover 3,570 km across 12 states and two union territories in an almost five-month period.
