New Delhi: The ruckus over Agnipath’s recruitment scheme has continued in several states. Leading politicians are giving their views regarding its outcome. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Saturday that the government has to revoke the Agnipath scheme, just as the Central government rolled back the farm laws after heavy protests by farmers.
Taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi said the PM will have to apologise to the youth of the nation for the second time, as he had had to apologise to farmers last year when the three farm laws were cancelled.
The BJP government has insulted the ethics of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’. I had predicted earlier that the Prime Minister would have to revoke the black Agriculture Act. “He said in a tweet in Hindi.

Speaking in the same breath, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra alleged that the government fails to realise the pain and frustration of the jobless youngsters, and instead of helping them, it wants to diminish aspirants’ hopes of recruitment, rank and pension.
Those who are opposing the scheme are worried about the four-year tenure because only 25 percent will be given a chance to work full time. Others would have to leave without any gratuity or pension benefits.
The Central government has assured that the future of the Agnipatgh recruits is fully secured. Many BJP-ruled states such as Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana have decided that they are ready to give priority to Agniveers in their state police recruitment.
