A blast took place on Saturday on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad railway line inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31. Ammunition was found on the spot. Efforts have also been made to uproot the railway track.
Rajasthan: Blast at Udaipur-Ahmedabad railway line started 13 days back by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday night created an atmosphere of panic. Prima facie, blasting has been done in an attempt to uproot the railway track and gunpowder has also been found on the spot. Actually there is also a mining area around the spot. Police and railway officials have started investigation. The movement of the train has stopped from both the sides of the incident site.
Due to the alertness of the local villagers, a major accident was averted on this new route. According to sources, the incident took place late on Saturday night on the Salumbar Marg in Kevade ki Naal of Odha railway bridge. Here at 10 o’clock last night, the villagers heard the sound of the explosion. After this, some youth immediately reached the track. Everyone was stunned to see the condition there. He told that gunpowder was lying on the railway line. Looks like there is a conspiracy to blow up the railway bridge.
The tracks have been broken at many places. Nut-bolts were also found missing from the line on the bridge. A thin iron sheet was also found uprooted on the track. Confirming the incident, Udaipur Superintendent of Police Vikas Sharma said that the FSL team is on the spot. The exact position will be known only after investigation. Public Relations Officer of Railway Ajmer Division Ashok Chauhan told that the incident has happened. The investigation continues. Trains have been stopped on both sides of the spot.
Chouhan informed that the work of correcting the line is going on by the Railways. Presently Ahmedabad Asarwa train will operate from Dungarpur to Asarwa only. The Udaipur-Asarwa train leaves daily at 5 pm. Which reaches Aasarwa at 11 pm. Similarly, Asarva-Udaipur leaves daily at 6:30 am and reaches Udaipur City station at 12:30 pm.
