Ajay Maken has made the September 25 incident the basis for offering to relinquish charge of the Rajasthan Congress. On September 25, he came to Jaipur as an observer in the Congress Legislature Party meeting, where Maken submitted a report to the high command against the three leaders, considering them indiscipline, after the meeting was canceled by the Ashok Gehlot faction.

After this notice, the Congress high command issued notices to the three leaders and sought their answers. However, no action has been taken by the party against the three leaders so far. Rather, the leaders of the Gehlot camp had also made serious allegations against Ajay Maken of batting on behalf of the pilot. If sources are to be believed, the responsibility of Bharat Jodo Yatra in Rajasthan has been entrusted to all those people who played an important role in the cancellation of the Legislature Party meeting in Jaipur on 25th September. In such a situation, it is believed that due to this, Ajay Maken has offered to resign from the post in-charge.

It may be known that earlier, all the CWC members, general secretaries, in-charges of the Congress had resigned as soon as Mallikarjun Kharge took over the reins of the Congress National President in Delhi. In these, CWC member from Rajasthan Raghuveer Meena, Punjab in-charge Harish Chaudhary, Gujarat in-charge Raghu Sharma, In-charge General Secretary Bhanwar Jitendra Singh had also submitted their resignations.

Significantly, on September 25, Congress observers had called a meeting of the Legislature Party to discuss the name of the new chief minister. Instead of attending this meeting, the MLAs gathered at the residence of Minister Shanti Dhariwal. Where the ministers and MLAs of the Gehlot faction opposed the appointment of Sachin Pilot as the CM. Later, after reaching the residence of Assembly Speaker CP Joshi, he resigned.
