Udaipur: Rajasthan’s Disaster and Relief Management Minister, Govind Ram Meghwal, who along with other Congress MLAs is staying at a resort in Udaipur regarding the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls to be held on 10, June, all the legislatures are kept in one place so that they can’t change their minds during the poll.
Govind Ram Meghwal on Wednesday said he got a threat call from a man who demanded Rs 70 lakh from him.
According to police, the man made an internet call to the minister on Tuesday and threatened him with dire consequences if he failed to make the payment.
“The caller identified himself as a member of the SOPU gang and threatened the minister.” “He demanded Rs 70 lakh from Meghwal and also issued a threat to his family members who live in Bikaner,” SP (Bikaner) Gaurav Yadav said.
According to IG (Bikaner) Omprakash, a case has been filed in this regard. “We have identified the caller.” “The matter is being investigated further,” he said. The IG said that further details of the case would be exposed in the evening.
However, the minister went to Jaipur along with chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday.
