Rajasthan: PM Modi to inaugurate part of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Dausa today

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a portion of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway today. The 246-km Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section will be opened for public, after which the travel time from Delhi to Jaipur will come down from five hours to about two hours.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a portion of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway today. The 246-km Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section will be opened for public, after which the travel time from Delhi to Jaipur will come down from five hours to about two hours.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said that this section of the expressway has been built at a cost of over Rs 12,150 crore. This will give a big boost to the economic development of the entire region. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is one such initiative that is expected to revolutionize road travel between Delhi and Mumbai.

The 1,380 km long eight-lane Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will also benefit many cities along the way. The work on this project started with the foundation stone being laid on March 2019. The Finance Ministry had then announced that the expressway would be built with a capital cost of Rs 101,420 crore.

Once completed, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will become the longest greenfield expressway in the country at 1,386 km. It will reduce the travel distance between national capital Delhi and financial capital Mumbai by 12 per cent to 1,424 km. Will make 1,242 km from. While the travel time will be reduced from the current 24 hours to only 12 hours.

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will pass through six states – Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. It will connect big cities like Kota, Indore, Jaipur, Bhopal, Vadodara and Surat. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will also improve connectivity between economic centers like Jaipur, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Kota, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat and bring economic prosperity to these areas.
