Ahmedabad: During his visit to Ahmedabad to support BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized India’s robust military prowess and its commitment to maintaining positive relations with neighboring countries, including China. He underscored that India, now a formidable military force, seeks to foster amicable ties with its neighbors.

Steady Progress in India-China Talks


Singh assured that ongoing discussions between India and China are progressing smoothly and in a constructive atmosphere, addressing various bilateral issues. He reiterated India’s unwavering stance of not succumbing to external pressures and expressed confidence in the outcome of the negotiations.

Optimism in Defence Exports


Highlighting India’s burgeoning defence exports, which surpassed ₹21,000 crore in the financial year 2023-24, Singh expressed optimism about further growth in this sector. He credited the Modi government’s initiatives for the remarkable increase, emphasizing the importance of indigenous defence production.

Commitment to Indigenous Defence Production


Singh reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bolstering indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities, emphasizing the need for domestic production of missiles, weapons, bombs, and tanks. He highlighted the significant milestone of achieving defence production exceeding ₹1 lakh crore and emphasized the government’s dedication to promoting ‘Make in India’ in the defence sector.
