In Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, a devastating natural disaster struck, resulting in the relocation of over 500 individuals to safer locations. The calamity, which occurred on Thursday evening, caused significant damage to infrastructure, including four transmission towers, a power receiving station, and a vital road connecting the Gool sub-division with Ramban district headquarters.

Ramban Land Sinking Crisis: 500+ People Relocated. Pernote village was hit hard. More than 58 houses were ruined because the land sank over three days. The district leaders, led by Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, helped move people quickly.

Three power towers broke, messing up farming. Even though heavy rain messed up temporary shelters, the leaders got people to new places fast.

Most people went to the Maitra community hall. The leaders are fixing things, like power, with help from Jammu Power Development Corporation Limited.

There’s a 24/7 control room to help, led by Block Development Officer Yasir Wani. They’re getting help from national and state disaster teams, police, and volunteers. There’s also a health camp for medical needs and clean places to stay.

Different government departments are figuring out how much damage there is. They want to give money to help under State Disaster Response Force rules. The National Conference wants experts to stop this from happening again.
