Jeddah: Ranbir Kapoor made his first public appearance after the birth of his daughter, Raha, at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, sporting a bushy beard and long hair. He wore a blue check suit paired with a white shirt to the film festival.
On the sidelines of the event, Ranbir discussed his film Shamshera’s poor performance and the mistakes he made while making it.
Ranbir returned to the silver screen in the film Shamshera after a gap of four years; it was released in July but failed to attract audiences.
Ranbir said at the festival that Shamshera was the toughest film on which he had worked so far, but it proved a disaster at the box office. I stuck on a beard, which was a mistake in Shamshera. “When you’re shooting in the heat and you stick on a beard, it’s like your face is melting.”
Speaking on the poor performances of several films, Ranbir said that the culture of going to watch a movie in a theatre has died. But he is optimistic that the old culture will return soon. Strong storytelling is required for the film to hold the audience’s attention.
Ranbir and his wife Alia Bhatt worked together in Brahmastra. Their love affair got underway as they started working on the film and finally tied the knot months before the release of the movie. They were blessed with a baby girl, Raha, last month.
