Mumbai: Randeep Hooda, who is in the headlines these days due to his directorial film Swatantra Veer Savarkar. Recalling the role he played in the 2016 biographical drama ‘Sarbjit’, he said that karma comes to the fore, even if it is done through unknown people. In fact, unidentified gunmen on Sunday killed Amir Tanba, who was a key figure behind the assassination of Sarabjit Singh in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail in 2013.
When Amir Tanba was standing outside his house in Islampura, Lahore, two unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire, seriously injuring him. The murder of Amir Tanaba is being seen as a “revenge killing” carried out by hired killers. Speaking to sources, an emotional Randeep said that it is all about karma.
Randeep had also attended the last rites of Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur, who passed away in 2022. “Hearing about his attacker being killed, I wonder what Dalbir ji would have felt. I’m sure it would have been a feeling of some justice served after she fought to get him for years on end,” the actor said.

The actor said, “It was always a very sad feeling while doing the biopic on Sarabjit that when things were about to happen to extradite him to India and bring him back to his family, he was murdered in jail.”
Randeep also attended the funeral of Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur, who died in 2022. The actor said, “I wonder what Dalbir must have felt after hearing that the attacker has been killed. I am sure he must have felt that he has got justice after struggling for years to get it.”
He further said that he will soon call Sarabjit’s daughters and talk to them! It is noteworthy that ‘Sarabjit’ has been directed by Omung Kumar, in which Randeep Hooda has played the role of Sarabjit Singh. Sarabjit was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1991 and spent 22 years in jail for alleged terrorism and espionage. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Richa Chadha and Darshan Kumar were also seen in the film.
