Mumbai: Union minister Narayan Rane’s “selfish and vindictive attitude” has forced the BJP to back down, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said on Saturday and alleged that the Konkan strongman in connection with the ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ The ministers were not following the instructions of Narendra Modi.
Addressing party workers in Nashik, Raut responded to Rane by the latter’s statement that he will “unearth” “old cases” saying that Sign has the “Kundli” (a record) of Rane, a former Shiv sainikand you can open a “sandook” (box).
Rane was arrested and released on bail late Tuesday night for his “would have slapped” comments against Maharashtra prime minister and Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray.
One of the FIRs against Rane was registered in Nashik.
In addition to Rane, other Maharashtra-Bharti Pawar Union ministers Kapil Patil, Bhagwat Karad are also touring various areas as part of the ‘Jan Ashirvad Yatra’. But instead of following PM Modi’s directives to propagate the work of the central government, Rane has been targeting the Seine, Uddhav Thackeray and the MVA government. Rane and his current party, the BJP, will have to do some introspection. The BJP will soon realize their mistake (of incorporating Rane). because of Rane’s revengeful attitude and ego that will bring down the BJP, “he said.

Referring to Rane’s threat to dig up old cases, Raut asked, “Don’t we have your ‘Kundli’? Please be prepared when we open our ‘sandook’ (box).”
Rane’s in the ‘Jan Ashirvad Yatra’ is currently touring the Konkan coastal region, including the Sindhudurg district, their stronghold.
Raut also spoke about the face-to-face meeting between opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis and Thackeray, and said that the CM should have told Fadnavis what to do.
“We have political differences with BJP. If BJP wants to shoot us on Rane’s shoulders, we are ready. We also had differences with (NCP chief) Sharad Pawar, but today we are together,” he said.
Besides the Sena, the NCP and Congress are the other two components of the government of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
