Rape cases have been increasing. The girls remain on the receiving end and raise a question mark about their safety. Their movement from one place to another is not free from danger because atrocities against them are going on day-to-day across the country. One more shameful rape case took place in Jharkhand, committed by minors.
An 11-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped by six minor boys in Khunti district in Jharkhand on Tuesday night.
The police have caught all the accused. As per the report, all of them are minors, aged between 10 and 15 years.
What happened?
According to the police, the girl had gone to a neighbouring village to attend a wedding. During a dance programme, she had an argument with the boys, who she knew from before.
When the girl was returning home along with two of her friends around midnight, the boys who were following her stopped her, then forcefully took her to a lonely place, and all six gang-raped her.
Her two friends were able to escape from the spot and informed her parents about the event. Hearing this news, the parents started running from pillar to post in search of their daughter. The culprits fled from the spot after seeing the girl’s parents, “the police said.”
Police registered a case.
The girl’s family was in the doldrums about whether to register a police complaint case or not initially, on account of social stigma. Later, they hesitantly registered a case.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the family registered a police complaint, and since then, the police have been investigating the matter to get to the bottom of the case. Finally, police detained all six accused and sent them to a correctional facility.
