Punjab Kings haven’t registered two wins in a row this season. Can this victory prove a morale booster for the team to get momentum? A below-par performance by the Gujarat Titans was a bitter pill for the franchise to swallow. The uncertainty in cricket looms over every match, and that makes this game fabulous. Kagiso Rabada and Shikhar Dhawan were the architects of PBKS’s victory.

RCB to face CSK

The action-packed IPL 2022 is full of drama. All kinds of matches took place, so fare like one-sided encounters and several encounters went to the wire. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are gearing up to face the most successful team in IPL history, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

MS Dhoni has been commanding the team since disposing of captain Ajay Jadeja in the middle of the tournament. The team management had shown faith in old warhorse Dhoni to change the declining fate of CSK. It is an old saying, old is gold.

RCB’s decent performance with five and the same number of losses in this IPL is a mixture of a strong, promising show and strings of losses. RCB have a chance to turn the tables in their remaining four encounters and confirm their qualification for the playoffs.

The key members of the team need to come together and give their every ounce of energy to help the team go ahead, otherwise the challenge of RCB will be diminished.

The top-order of RCB has been struggling. Skipper Faf du Plessis has made a couple of sublime knocks but lacks consistency, having five single-digit scores this season. Former captain Virat Kohli showed glimpses of his old form with gorgeous drives and flicks that must be a pleasing sign for the team management of RCB. Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed have been struggling to amass healthy runs, scoring 21 and 52 in RCB’s last four matches. All batters of RCB must click to accept a challenge or pose a difficult target to the opponents.

CSK, a confident side

The mood in CSK is rejuvenated after a resounding victory against the in-form Sunrisers Hyderabad. CSK’s diminishing fate can be changed by MS Dhoni’s magic stick. Ruturaj Gaikwad is the man of the moment for the CSK as he scored the fastest 1000 runs in IPL history, equaling Sachin Tendulkar’s record.

The MCA pitch has offered some bounce in the previous games. In the last match played here, CSK and SRH combined batters scored an enormous 391 runs. The humidity levels are likely to be lower. So there won’t be any dew factor.

Turn it on head to head. CSK are miles ahead. RCB have defeated CSK on nine occasions in 29 encounters. Since 2018, RCB have won 2 and lost 7 against CSK.

Both sides have a do or die situation to qualify for the playoffs. Therefore, a thrilling battle is expected to take place. Crowds are hoping to watch another nail-biting match in tonight’s fixture.
