IPL 2022 has been proving a ‘waterloo’ for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The franchise once again surrendered to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 12 runs. SRH bowlers partially did well and stopped LSG for 169. But the batters faltered and failed to cope with the potent LSG’s attack and managed to score 157 runs.
The LSG bowlers were disciplined and never allowed their opponents to free their arms. Avesh Khan and Jason Holder scalped 4 and 3 wickets, respectively. Tripathi and Pooran showed some retaliation, but that was not enough to cross the line.
The focus has now shifted to today’s another mouth-watering encounter. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face the IPL’s unbeaten team, the Rajasthan Royals (RR), at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
All eyes are on ex-RCB skipper Virat Kohli. Cricket fans would like to see Kohi in full flow. He has not blasted with his bat in recent times. But gradually, he has been regaining his old touch and form.
RR Point’s table topper
Credit goes to Sanju Samson for leading the side from the front. The point’s table topper, RR, is looking like a confident side under the captaincy of Samson. Rajasthan Royals would like to continue their winning streak in today’s match as well.
Sanju Samson’s counterpart, Faf du Plessis, knows all the tricks of the game. This man has vast experience of captaincy as he led the Proteas for a long time. Faf du Plessis’s RCB will leave no stone unturned to win today’s encounter. Both teams are looking to snatch important points from today’s match.
The nature of the Wankhede track is that it helps the fast bowlers in the beginning, and both sides want to grab this opportunity. But overall, RR is studded with a fantastic bowling line-up. Trent Boult, Navdeep Saini, and Prasidh Krishna are the pace batteries of the franchise, while spin’s responsibility would be on the shoulders of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.
The bowling department of RCB is in the hands of Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, and Mohammed Siraj. They have the ability to mesmerise any opponent.
RCB enjoys a better record than RR
If we talk about past records between the two teams, RCB is in a better place. It enjoys a 12-10 record in wins over RR in the IPL (two no-results and one abandoned).
RCB failed to start their campaign with a bang in IPL 2022 as they suffered a defeat in their first match against the Punjab Kings. The RCB bowlers were off colour and ineffective that day. Therefore, RCB were unable to defend a massive total of 205 in 20 overs. They came back strongly and won over the Kolkata Knight Riders in the next match, but not convincingly.
RR is still the unbeaten side, and they have an excellent run rate. The franchise convincingly defeated SRH in the opening fixture. RR continued its form and hammered the Mumbai Indians in their second match.
Cricket fans have an opportunity to watch some exciting cricket tonight. Both sides, RCB and RR, would like to raise their game as much as possible to grab this encounter. Be ready to watch another absorbing cricket match tonight in this IPL.
