Religious Leaders Unite to Advocate for a Dedicated Ministry of Pilgrimage

Varanasi: In a unified voice, prominent religious organizations including Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti, Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, Ganga Mahasabha, and Shri Kashi Vidvat Parishad have come together to demand the establishment of a separate Ministry of Pilgrimage in India. Speaking at a press conference held during the concluding session of the Sanskriti Sansad in Varanasi, the leaders emphasized the need for a ministry dedicated to the development of religious sites across the nation.

Swami Jeetendra Nand Saraswati, the General Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti, stressed the importance of creating a distinct ministry focused on pilgrimage development, independent of the Ministry of Tourism. He emphasized the significance of developing pilgrimage sites in accordance with scriptural beliefs, aiming to preserve their sanctity and protect the surrounding environment.

The representatives called upon all political parties in the country to clarify their stance regarding the aspirations of Sanatan Hindus ahead of the 2024 general elections. Additionally, they urged for the return of Hindu temples through the implementation of a federal law and emphasized the need for a Uniform Civil Code in the country. Furthermore, the leaders demanded that temple priests (pujaris) should receive an honorarium for their services.

During the event, a book titled ‘Modiji’s Sapno Ka Bharat’, authored by Pragya Mishra, was launched, shedding light on the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the nation.
