Remove sun tan naturally at home with some tips and tricks!

Lucknow: Tanned skin is a common beauty problem faced by almost everyone. The scorching heat of the sun affects our skin in many ways. The blazing sun rays makes our skin appear dull and tanned. Of course, a little bit of vitamin D from direct sunlight can do a body good. Just be sure not to overdo it, and always wear sunscreen, so you can build color a little bit at a time. Tanning is one of the common beauty problems faced by almost everyone. The intensive heat of the sun affects our skin in many ways. Exposure to direct sun rays makes our skin look dull and tanned.

Here are a few simple homemade tan removal remedies, that have been passed on from generations, and are made with everyday ingredients found in the kitchen.

Some tips & tricks to remove sun tan naturally:

# Turmeric-besan and yogurt mixture:
Turmeric powder is antibacterial and helps to reduce the tanning naturally. Moreover turmeric and lactic acid in the yogurt will make the skin fair. This can also be a good way to get fairness easily for all skin types. Yogurt has exfoliating properties that transform your skin from being dry and dull to lighter and softer. All one needs is two tablespoons of besan flour, a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a tablespoon of curd. Apply the mixture onto your face with a brush. Leave it on until the pack dries up. Wash it off with water.

# Honey and papaya mixture:
Application of both honey and papaya on the skin is very healthy. While papaya packs exfoliating and skin bleaching properties, honey is a natural moisturizer with rich antioxidant properties. This is a very popular method of tan removal at home. Honey is one of nature’s most revered skin remedies. Thanks to its antibacterial and antiseptic abilities, it may benefit oily and acne-prone skin. Honey is also a natural humectant, so it helps keep the skin moist but not oily.

Take 5 cubes of papaya and add to it 1 tablespoon of honey. Mash the papaya in that mix and continue mixing until you get a smooth paste. Apply the paste at your tanned part, keep it for 30min and Wash it off with water.

# Aloe vera and Lemon Juice:
Aloe vera is a blessed plant with its juice and gel being beneficial for skin, hair and health. Aloe vera gel is enriched with vitamins, mineral and water content. High moisture and mineral contents helps to keep the skin hydrated and lighten the sun tan from skin. It is also good to use on the skin in summers when the skin gets sun burnt and get patchy. And Lemon juice has bleaching effect which helps in removing tan quickly.

Take two tablespoons of fresh aloe vera pulp, one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. Mix all the ingredients well and apply all over your face and neck. Gently massage until it is completely absorbed into the skin. Leave for 15 minutes and then rinse off with water.

# Oatmeal and buttermilk:
Many people include buttermilk in their regular skincare regimen. It is rich in lactic acid that softens the skin and improves its tone. On the other hand, oatmeal boasts high skin cleansing and exfoliating properties.

In a bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of oatmeal with 2 tablespoons of buttermilk. Mix it well together to form a thick paste. Then apply it all over the tanned areas of your skin while rubbing in a circular motion. Leave it to air dry for 30 minutes then wash it off with warm water.

Coconut water too is good for removing the sun tan from the facial skin. In addition with the sun tan lightening properties, coconut water is also great to make the skin tone Lightner. It tones and firms up the skin with its nutrients. This coconut water is an efficient home remedy for sun tan removal in a natural way.

– Apply coconut water on the affected skin or when you come home after staying long in the sun.
– College students who get tanned easily can try this treatment to fade the tanning and skin darkness due to sun exposure for long duration.

# Potato juice:
Potato juice is widely used by many in their regular skincare routine. Prevalently, it is applied to remove dark circles under the eyes. Rich in key nutrients like Vitamin C, it is also an effective skin brightening agent that can be used to get rid of suntan and pigmentation. Potato juice is a natural bleaching agent that can tighten and remove stubborn tan from your skin, thereby improving your complexion. All in all, using potato juice can help to treat blemishes, sunburn, dark spots, fine lines, and dull skin.

Extract potato juice from one potato, and mix in a tablespoon of lemon juice. Apply this to the face and other affected areas. Let it dry for 30 minutes. Wash off with cold water and repeat it regularly for best results.

# Raw milk:
Raw milk is very effective for treating suntan. Take some raw milk in a bowl and add a pinch of turmeric powder, and mix well. Use a cotton ball and apply this mixture on the tanned face, leave till it dries out and wash your face with cold water. Repeat this remedy on a daily basis to get back a clear glowing skin.
