Bhubaneshwar: In yet another shocking incident, The body of famous Odia film actor and theater artist Raimohan Parida was found hanging at his house in Prachi Vihar area of Bhubaneswar on Friday. He said goodbye to this world at the age of 58. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
The family members of Raimohan Parida told that his body was found hanging in the room this morning. A police officer said that prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide. He said the body would be sent for postmortem. Several artists reached Parida’s house to pay tribute and offer condolences to the bereaved family. Hailing from Keonjhar district, Parida acted in more than 100 Odia and 15 Bengali films. He was also a popular theater artist. (Language)
Popular actor Siddhant Mohapatra, who has acted in several films with Raimohan Parida, said, “It is hard to believe that such a cheerful person, who has experienced many ups and downs in life, can think of doing something like this. He was extremely successful in the profession.” Another actor, Sritam Das, said it was unbelievable that Parida, who had become a “hero from zero”, could commit suicide.
Raimohan Parida, a resident of Keonjhar district, started his career in the year 1985. In 1987, he worked as a negative artist in the film Sagar. The audience liked him very much as a villain. Parida has written ‘Ram Lakshman’, ‘Asibu Kebe Saji Mo Rani’, ‘Naga Panchami’, ‘Udandi Sita’, ‘Tu Thile Mo Dara Kahku’, ‘Rana Bhoomi’, ‘Singha Vahini’, ‘Kulnandan’ and ‘Kandei Aklere’. Worked in many superhit films including ‘Luha’.
