Republic Day parade concludes with Rafale carrying out a ‘Vertical Charlie’

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 72nd Indian Republic Day led the nation in paying tribute to the fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial in Delhi, on January 26.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Bipin Rawat, Indian Army chief Gen MM Naravane, Navy chief Admiral Karambir Singh and Indian Air Force Chief (IAF) Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria were also present there to pay tribute to the brave martyrs.

The R-Day parade was commanded by Parade Commander, Lieutenant General Vijay Kumar Mishra, Ati Vishisth Seva medal, General Officer Commanding Delhi Area. Major General Alok Kacker, Chief of Staff, Delhi Area will be the Parade Second-in-Command.

The pride parade was concluded with Rafale fighter jets, which were inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF) last year, culminated the flypast by carrying out the ‘Vertical Charlie’ formation.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi had wished the nation Happy Republic Day ahead of the parade.
