Respite from heat, heavy rain in Delhi-NCR, IMD alert rain in these 10 states today

New Delhi: Once again in the month of May, rain is being seen in the national capital Delhi and its adjoining areas. On Tuesday too, it rained heavily in many areas of Delhi-NCR. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding the rain even today. Along with this, it has also been told that till June 5, the temperature of Delhi-NCR is going to be less than 40 degrees.

New Delhi: Once again in the month of May, rain is being seen in the national capital Delhi and its adjoining areas. On Tuesday too, it rained heavily in many areas of Delhi-NCR. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding the rain even today. Along with this, it has also been told that till June 5, the temperature of Delhi-NCR is going to be less than 40 degrees. IMD has informed that due to another Western Disturbance, thunderstorms and rains are expected in the plains of northern India including Delhi in the next few days.

IMD has said that light to heavy rains are expected in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu till late tonight. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the fresh Western Disturbance, rain activities will be seen once again in the plains of North India including Delhi from June 01. During this, strong winds will also blow. According to IMD, there is a forecast of rain with thunder in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday and Thursday.

On the other hand, if we talk about today’s weather, there is a possibility of light to moderate rains in parts of Rajasthan, South Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Western Himalayas. There is also a possibility of scattered snowfall in the upper reaches of the Western Himalayas. Light rain may occur in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Light rain is likely over western parts of Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, Northeast India and Lakshadweep.

The weather conditions have remained good in the plains as well as in the northern parts of the country including the hills for the last few days. Due to the rain, a drop in temperature has been observed and it is running below the normal level. A fresh Western Disturbance has already moved over the Western Himalayan region, resulting in more weather activities over the hills of North India.

Apart from this, non-stop pre monsoon weather activities are expected over the hilly regions of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Ladakh for the next three days, that is till June 2. In the next two days, the foothills as well as the plains will see spillover effects including Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, northern parts of Rajasthan as well as Delhi and NCR region.
