“Revenge for ‘insulting’ Prophet Mohammad”: ISIS claims attack on Gurudwara in Kabul

Kabul: ISIS has claimed attack on the Gurudwara in Kabul, Afghanistan. At the same time, ISIS has said that it was a retaliation for the ‘insult’ of Prophet Mohammed. Let us inform that after the alleged controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammad by BJP leaders, there is a protest from the people of the Muslim community in many parts of the country and the world. On the other hand, the BJP suspended Nupur Sharma on June 5 amid growing controversy and expelled Naveen Jindal from the party.

According to Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), ‘Abu Muhammed al Tajiki’ carried out the attack which lasted for three hours. The group claimed that besides submachine guns and hand grenades, four IEDs and a car bomb were also used in the attack. It further claimed that about 50 Hindu Sikhs and Taliban members were killed in the attack and the attack was conducted as revenge for the insult of Prophet Muhammed by an Indian politician.

ISIS said in a message posted on its Amaq site that Saturday’s attack targeted Hindus, Sikhs and “anti-religionists”. Let us inform that the Gurudwara in Kabul was attacked by terrorists on Saturday morning. During this machine gun and grenades were spoken. Two people were killed and at least seven others were injured in the attack. Interior ministry spokesman Abdul Nafi Taqor said the attackers hurled at least one grenade as soon as they entered the gurdwara and set it on fire.

It is worth noting that recently the Indian delegation and the Taliban met in Kabul. Also, there were talks on many issues. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi had said that the Indian team would try to visit several places in Afghanistan where India-backed projects and programs are being implemented. At the same time, the Taliban requested India to consider working in trade with Afghanistan as well.
