Rishi Sunak reverses his decision and gears up to attend COP27 climate summit in Egypt

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced on Wednesday that he will attend the COP27 climate summit in order to "create a safe and sustainable future," reversing his previous decision not to attend the COP27 climate summit.

London: UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced on Wednesday that he will attend the COP27 climate summit in order to “create a safe and sustainable future,” reversing his previous decision not to attend the COP27 climate summit.

“There is no long-term prosperity without action on climate change,” he said on Twitter on Wednesday to announce his presence at the climate summit. Without spending on renewable energy sources, there is no energy security. I’m going to COP27 next week in order to carry on Glasgow’s legacy of constructing a secure and sustainable future.

Egypt will host the COP27 climate summit next week. Sunak had earlier stated that he would not attend the climate summit because of his attention to the budget for November 17 and the domestic economy.

Noted environmentalists and climate activists have condemned Sunak’s decision.
