Riteish Deshmukh is going to make OTT debut, gave statement regarding abusive character in web series

Famous Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh is going to make his OTT debut with the web series ‘Pill’. The series will be released on Jio Cinema and revolves around a medical crime drama. In this series, Ritesh Deshmukh is playing the role of Deputy Medicine Controller Prakash Chauhan in a pharmaceutical company.

Deshmukh, who is known for his roles in comedy films that entertain the audience, is playing a serious role in this series. In a recent interview, Deshmukh shared his perspective towards the roles which he prefers to avoid. I deliberately try to avoid such characters in which I have to use foul language.

It’s not that such roles won’t come in the future, but if they come and the script justifies it, I will still stay away from it. I may consider it at that time, but as of now, I have maintained distance from such roles and I intend to continue doing so. For future films, I have not set specific parameters. My perspective on films evolves with time.”

He further added, “I have not played roles where I have to use abusive language because I don’t think it is necessary for the roles given to me. However, my stance may change in the future. For now, I want to do films whose stories appeal to me and make me say, ‘Wow, that was fun.’ If I feel that way, I will happily accept the film.”

While discussing his upcoming projects, Deshmukh mentioned staying away from comedy films for the last four years, but clarified that it was not a conscious decision. “Right now, I am preparing for ‘Housefull’, ‘Dhamaal’ and ‘Masti’, which are scheduled to release next year,” he said.
