A bridge over the Kamala River in Bihar's Darbhanga collapsed into the waterway while the truck was crossing over it.
Patna: A bridge over the Kamala River in Bihar’s Darbhanga collapsed into the waterway while the truck was crossing over it. The bridge was constructed on the Soharwa Ghat, and it is located about 65 kilometres away from Darbhanga.
The truck was hanging upside down, and the images showed the entire bridge splitting into two parts and falling into the river. No casualties have been reported so far in the incident.
The bridge-fall incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Kusheshwarsthan Police Station area. It broke down when a truck loaded with salmon was crossing the bridge, leaving the truck hanging.
A sizable number of locals gathered at the spot the moment the bridge broke into two parts.
The foundation stone of the bridge was laid down by the Bihar CM in 2021. In fact, no construction work had taken place for a long time. The authorities didn’t take care to make it safe for the vehicles. Who is responsible for this bridge collapse? Those who were involved in the construction work, officials as well as politicians, are both culprits.
The bridge was used to connect four districts in the region as well as about 10 panchayats.
It was a boon for several panchayats. People benefited a lot from this bridge.
