RJD supremo Lalu Yadav was acquitted on Wednesday in the 2015 poll code violation case due to a lack of evidence.
Patna: RJD leader Lalu Yadav was declared innocent on Wednesday in the 2015 poll code violation case due to a lack of proof.
He launched his election campaign for his younger son Tejashwi Yadav in Raghopur in 2015, in which the RJD supremo called for Yadavs and other backward castes to support the secular alliance in order to defeat the BJP-led NDA. He described the assembly election as a direct battle between “the backward castes and the forward castes” and called on them to support the alliance.
An FIR was registered against Lalu for making a casteist comment that the Election Commission determined to be unlawful. Later, the RJD leader received a notice from the Election Commission for breaking the election code.
On Wednesday, Lalu Yadav came out clean in the case over a lack of evidence.
