New Delhi: The boys in blue clinched both the T20I and ODI series against England in their backyard. India skipper Rohit Sharma is in heaven after his troops forced the three lions to bite the dust. India overpowered England in both formats by an identical margin of 2-1 in the three-match series.
Rohit Sharma, as a captain, achieved a milestone in the ODI and became the third Indian captain, after MS Dhoni (2014) and Mohammad Azharuddin (1990), to beat England on their home soil.
“Special achievements by a special bunch,” Rohit tweeted.

India was tumbling at one point in the third ODI at Old Trafford in Manchester on July 17. In the end, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya steadied the ship and knitted a 133-run partnership which helped India snatch the match and series easily.
Pandya has now joined the elite group of all-rounders in the ODI list like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, and K Srikkanth to score over fifty runs and bag four wickets. He is the first Indian cricketer to achieve this unique feat outside the Indian subcontinent.
Rishabh Pant’s heroic innings helped India to take the match from the jaws of England. He is now the fourth Indian wicket-keeper batter to score an ODI century after MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid and KL Rahul.
