Rohit Sharma Denies Reports of T20 World Cup Selection Meeting as False

Rohit Sharma, currently showcasing his skills for Mumbai Indians in IPL 17, is anticipated to lead India in the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the USA and the Caribbean.

The Indian cricket team skipper, Rohit Sharma, has refuted recent claims of convening with BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar and Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid to deliberate India’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, labeling them as fake.

Speaking on the Club Praire Fire Podcast alongside Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan, Rohit clarified that no such gathering had occurred. He disclosed, “I haven’t met anyone. Ajit Agarkar is somewhere in Dubai, playing Golf. Rahul Dravid is watching his kid play in Bengaluru. He was in Mumbai, actually. He was. He got him to play on a red soil wicket here at CCI (Cricket Club of India). That’s about it.”

He further emphasized, “We haven’t met, to be honest. In today’s day and age, unless you hear it from either myself, Rahul himself, Ajit himself, or someone from the BCCI coming and talking in front of the camera, everything is fake.”

Reports had circulated regarding a meeting between Agarkar, Rohit, and Dravid at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai to deliberate India’s lineup for the T20 World Cup 2024. Speculation arose about Virat Kohli potentially opening alongside Rohit during the campaign.

In addition, Rohit expressed his preference for Rishabh Pant’s inclusion in India’s T20 World Cup squad, highlighting Pant’s unique humor and cricketing prowess.
