Royal Enfield 750 cc Motorcycle Teased In New Video; Unveil At EICMA

Updated Date

Royal Enfield will be pulling the wraps of its most ambitious motorcycle yet later this month and we now have an official unveil date to look forward to. The Chennai-based bike maker has been testing its highly anticipated 750 cc offering for a while now and a new video shared by RE boss Siddhartha Lal reveals what the exhaust note sounds like. The video shows the new 750 cc bike being ridden on a race track, providing a little glimpse of what the production built offering will look like. This is the second such teaser to come from RE’s top honchos. Earlier in September, RE President Rudratej Singh teased the bike in a tweet.

Little is known about the all-new offering, but the Royal Enfield 750 cc twin-cylinder motorcycle has been spotted testing on a number of occasions and going by the early images, the bike will be a cafe racer. The design is identical to the Continental GT but the new middleweight offering gets design upgrades as well as other changes. For starters, expect to see fatter 120-section front and 160-section rear tyres and a new twin-pod instrument console. The bike will also come with ABS right from the start.

With respect to power, the all-new engine is expected to churn out about 50 bhp and around 60 Nm of peak torque. The motor will be a fuel injected one to keep up with the stringent European emission norms, while a 6-speef gearbox is also likely on RE’s fastest motorcycle. The race track seen in the video just might be the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in the UK, which is where Royal Enfield’s technology centre is located. The upcoming parallel-twin engined motorcycle is believed to be conceived at this facility.

The new Royal Enfield twin-cylinder bike is expected to bring a major overhaul for the brand and will help it grow in international markets. The model will also be a major step up technically since it’s been designed and developed at RE’s development centres in Chennai and the UK. The company has also ramped up production at its plants to accommodate the new model. The new Royal Enfield 750 bike will also be much faster than current lot, and in fact, Siddhartha Lal had even said it earlier this year that the upcoming model will be “highway worthy”.
