Chennai: Homegrown motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield today launched its new Scram 411 in India at a starting price of Rs 2.03 lakh (ex-showroom). The Scram 411 is based on the Himalayan and uses the same engine and chassis as the adventure tourer, however, offers a more road-biased disposition.

The new Himalayan-based scrambler will rival the likes of the newly-launched Yezdi Scrambler and Adventure, and also its ADV sibling.

Royal Enfield Scram 411 features:

The Scram 411 is powered by the same 411cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 24 hp at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of torque at 4,000-4,500 rpm and is paired with a five-speed transmission. The engine has, however, been retuned to better suit the riding characteristics on the road.

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 features smaller 19-inch wheels at the front and 17-inch at the rear, making it easier to handle and more road-friendly. Other features comparable to Himalayan include fuel tank design, wide handlebar, chassis, and a side-on upswept exhaust.

Unlike the Himalayan, the Scram 411 does not feature a secondary fender, tall windscreen, or wraparound frame, and the split seats have been replaced with a single-piece seat. The rear luggage rack has also been replaced with a grab rail.

Royal Enfield Scram 411 is available in a variety of colour combinations, including White and Red, Grey and Red, Grey and Yellow, and Black and Red. The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is also powered by a 411cc single cylinder LS410 oil-cooled engine producing 24 PS of power and 32 Nm of torque and mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The Scram 411 is sprung on 41 mm fork upfront with 190 mm travel and a monoshock at the rear. Seat height is lower than the Himalayan at 795 mm and it is also lighter at 185 kg. Braking equipment includes a 300 mm disc up front and a 240 mm rear disc and a dual-channel ABS.

It is available in seven colour options – White Flame, Silver Spirit, Blazing Black, Graphite Red, Graphite Blue, and Graphite Yellow.
