Punjab Kings earned two vital points with an 11-run victory against the Chennai Super Kings yesterday. PBKS scored a decent total of 187 in 20 overs. A sublime innings of 88 by Shikhar Dhawan and a late cameo of 19 in 7 balls by Livingstone helped the team pile up a decent total on the board.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faltered in their chase, falling 11 runs short of the target. This loss has almost eclipsed the chance of CSK to reach the playoff round. The breathtaking knock of Rayudu went in vain.

IPL 2022 has seen several ups and downs so far. The enormous comeback by SRH, Mumbai Indians’ losing streak, and the 68 runs by RCB against SRH are notable happenings in this IPL.

RR gears up against RCB

The action-packed schedule will continue with another crucial match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune, tonight.

The batting of RCB has not lived up to expectations. Faf du Plessis, Anuj Rawat, and Virat Kohli’s combined score is only 12 runs higher than Jos Buttler’s massive 491 runs in this edition of the IPL.

Rajasthan Royals are comfortably placed with 5 victories out of 7 matches, while Royal Challengers Bangalore haven’t justified their place as a team that emerged victorious in 5 encounters out of 8. Both teams are in contention to reach the playoff stage. It is set to be a cliffhanger as both will leave no stone unturned to register a win in tonight’s fixture.

Poor run rate of RCB

RCB’s 68-run-all-out rocked the tame management with this abysmal show on the ground. It has worsened the net run rate of RCB, which could prove decisive in the final count.

In terms of head-to-head records, RCB has the advantage, having won 13 matches to RR’s ten. Records don’t matter much in any new game.

For RR, R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal are in excellent form. The spin duo are in top form to mesmerise any batting side. Jos Buttler is the man of the moment with the way he has been handling the bowling with ease in this IPL. Shimron Hetmyer, Karun Nair, and others have also chipped in with runs at the crucial juncture.

In tonight’s encounter, the Royal Challengers Bangalore need to improve a lot to challenge the in-form Rajasthan Royals. Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and others are proven talents. They can blast any opposition. Josh Hazlewood, Mohammed Siraj, Jason Behrendorff and others need to be careful and must bowl with a big heart in order to prevent Buttler and company from freely opening their shoulder

Another enthralling fixture is on the cards. Both sides are looking at each other’s strong and weak points. Game planning is important for any new match. RCB should be careful against RR amidst the remarkable form of Buttler, Ashwin, Chahal and others. Be ready for another enjoyable encounter tonight.
