RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Advocates Self-Reliance and Indigenous Development Model for India

In a recent seminar at Sharda University, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat emphasized India’s inherent secular ethos and the importance of adopting a development model based on indigenous strengths. He asserted that the world doesn’t need to teach India secularism, as the country has embraced diversity since its inception. Bhagwat urged a shift towards a self-reliant approach, citing the need to leverage traditional wisdom for sustainable development.

According to Bhagwat, India’s historical prosperity resulted from a welcoming attitude towards diverse cultures, including the Huna, Kushan, and Islamic influences. He stressed the significance of following dharma for a Vishvaguru Bharat (World Teacher India) to address global conflicts. The RSS chief advocated for a development strategy rooted in India’s self-based strengths, cautioning against blindly adopting foreign models.

Bhagwat highlighted the need for a balanced approach to artificial intelligence, emphasizing job creation for the growing population. He urged India to recognize and utilize its own capabilities for becoming a stronger nation, emphasizing the importance of self-reliance over external assistance.

Reflecting on India’s past reliance on foreign aid during conflicts, Bhagwat urged the country to develop its own capabilities. He underscored the importance of reforming governance systems for better public service, suggesting a shift away from colonial-era structures toward a system that caters to the needs of the people. Bhagwat praised Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar for his significant role in crafting the Indian constitution.
